Equipping Christian Midwives for Safe, Compassionate, Christ-Centered Care.
The program at His Hands School of Midwifery is designed for women who feel called to serve mothers, babies, and families through Christ-centered midwifery care. Students are guided through a structured course of study that combines academic learning, practical skill development, professional formation, and supervised clinical experience.
Program Structure
Home-Based Learning
Students complete much of their academic study from home through workbook modules, assigned reading, recorded lectures, and guided learning materials.
Structured Module Progression
The curriculum is organized into structured modules, allowing students to build knowledge step by step in a clear and manageable sequence.
Recorded Teaching & Study Materials
Students learn through recorded lectures, PowerPoint presentations, workbook assignments, and instructor-prepared materials designed to reinforce understanding.
Assignments and Exams
Each module includes written work, review activities, and an exam to help students process material carefully and demonstrate comprehension.
Hands-On Intensive Workshops
In-person intensive workshops provide opportunities for students to practice important midwifery skills, learn equipment use, and participate in guided hands-on training.
Supervised Clinical Experience
Students also gain supervised clinical experience with qualified midwives/preceptors, growing through observation, assistance, and increasing responsibility over time. Depending on location, availability, and student placement needs, students may be responsible for helping identify or secure an appropriate clinical preceptor.
Academic Preparation
His Hands School of Midwifery is designed to be both flexible and academically serious. Students should expect regular reading, workbook assignments, recorded lectures, written work, study time, and module exams as they move through the curriculum.
Because midwifery requires knowledge, wisdom, diligence, and good judgment, students are encouraged to approach their studies with faithfulness, humility, and a willingness to learn. While much of the academic work is completed through structured home study, midwifery education also includes hands-on skill development and supervised clinical learning as students move forward in the program.
